Remember the Night (1940)

Movie Summary

Just before Christmas, Lee Leander is caught shoplifting. The prosecutor John Sargent postpones the trial knowing it’s hard to get a conviction at Christmastime. After feeling sorry for her, he arranges her bail and takes her home to his mother for Christmas. Surrounded by a loving family they fall in love. But this creates a new problem: how do they handle the upcoming trial?
