ABC starts the holiday season with Charlie Brown, the Grinch, and Shrek starting November 28, 2013
ABC Television Network kicks off the holiday season with the classic half-hour animated PEANUTS special, “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,” on Thursday, November 28th (Thanksgiving night) at 8pm ET on ABC.
This marks the 40th anniversary of the classic special, created by late cartoonist Charles M. Schulz. In the 1973 special, “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,” Charlie Brown wants to do something special for the gang. However, the dinner he arranges is a disaster when the caterers, Snoopy and Woodstock, prepare toast and popcorn as the main dish. Humiliated, it will take all of Marcie’s persuasive powers to salvage the holiday for Charlie Brown.
On the same night, the ABC Television Network will air the 90-minute special, “Lady Gaga & The Muppets’ Holiday Spectacular” at 9:30pm ET. The broadcast offers an avant-garde twist on the classic holiday variety show as Lady Gaga goes backstage with The Muppets, making a performance dream come true for the multi-platinum singer songwriter when they combine forces to sing holiday favorites and Lady Gaga hits.
The following night, Friday, November 29th, ABC will air the original 1966 animated How the Grinch Stole Christmas! at 8pm ET.
Shrek the Halls will follow at 8:30pm ET.
