Hallmark Channel Countdown to Christmas

From the last weekend in October until January 1st, Hallmark Channel runs the seasonal block called Countdown to Christmas, featuring a mix of holiday movies, specials and holiday-themed original programming. Countdown to Christmas officially began in 2009, while the channel’s first holiday original movie was aired in 2000. Since 2012, the network has also held a “Christmas in July” event with airings of previous movies. In February 2019, it was announced that in honor of the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Countdown to Christmas event, the channel would air selections of movies on Friday nights throughout the year. This is continuing in 2020.

I love Xmas movies but I can watch them beginning on Thanksgiving Day not before Halloween.
Leave movies mysteries open as a break from some of the xmas movies.

I agree, they seem to be playing just the movies from the last year or two mostly and there are many that were from a little earlier that I wish they would play. Some may be on Movies and Mysteries but that is not available for our area without special equipment.

Watching any Hallmark Christmas movie any more is like listening to Handel’s “Messiah” performed by other choirs and expecting something different.
Boring, mundane and formulaic. Exactly what the middle American mentality can cope with.

I too would love to see more of a mix, there are so many movies in your library. For those of us who love to see all the different movies and do not get the movies & mystery channel, it just doesn’t seem fair.

Please bring back the Christmas movies that starred Peter Falk as the Angel Max, and Katy Segal as a lady Angel. They are my favorites. I can’t find them on DVD.

I am sorry to say that all of your very valid complaints are falling on deaf ears, Apparently, the only concern that Hallmark has is money. The very fact that they created a new channel, in which you must get a upgrade to your cable service to receive it, speaks volumes. Buy the movies that you love, if they are available and forget watching Hallmark. They could care less about their loyal viewers. If you read through the comments, you will see that the same older movies, that really have a beautiful message that depicts the entire reason for the season, are no longer shown e.g. The Christmas Card, Silver Bells, just to mention a few.
    Very, very disappointing!!
They really need a competitor that is toned in to the concern of the viewers!!

I agree totally . Want to see some of the older ones on the regular Hallmark channel. The ‘Christmas Card’ especially.

My sister and I both love The Christmas Card and even though I have I on DVD I think it should be shown every year for support of our service men. Another is Christmas Visitor. I am a veteran and somewhat old fashioned. These movies make me feel really good inside.

The Christmas card is by far one of my families favorite and it should be on more times every Christmas season. The Christmas list should also be brought back.

Why isn’t the part two of the Bridge not airing on the regular channel? Seems kinda greedy and cheap to force another channel on people. You gonna pay for the extra cost of it?
