Hallmark Channel Countdown to Christmas

From the last weekend in October until January 1st, Hallmark Channel runs the seasonal block called Countdown to Christmas, featuring a mix of holiday movies, specials and holiday-themed original programming. Countdown to Christmas officially began in 2009, while the channel’s first holiday original movie was aired in 2000. Since 2012, the network has also held a “Christmas in July” event with airings of previous movies. In February 2019, it was announced that in honor of the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Countdown to Christmas event, the channel would air selections of movies on Friday nights throughout the year. This is continuing in 2020.

Hallmark Channel:Just a note.I’ve been enjoying watching some of your hallmark Christmas movies on couple of the stations you have out.Only drawback is that both your channels needs work!It gets distorted at times or freezes up.You need to fix your hallmark channels so we can all enjoy the movies without it’s interruptions.
Those are the only channels that do that as I’ve checked my other tv stations to see if they freeze up or get distorted as well & they do not.My sister as well says the same thing. So it’s not the cable it’s your channels only. Thankyou

There is a problem with your movies: the movies on the Hallmark channel and Movies & Mysteries, while different, are both listed as the same. For example, Road to Christmas is on M&M, but is listed as showing on both!

I like the new movies but I think u should throw in an older Christmas movie every once in a while. Like “The Christmas Shoes” or “Holiday In Your Heart”. Both are really good movies. And should be showed every once in a while. Thank you very much for listening.

Totally agree its all drama and as soon as a movie starts ..you know its a marriage to be.
This one avoids one or the other and they are all the same..endings ..

Definitely need to show the older movies! What happened to “the ultimate gift” best hallmark movie ever! You should go back to 24 hour schedule of just Christmas movies and show them all. Very disappointed this year!

Ya know ya can’t please everyone & it’s not even worth trying to. No matter what changes you made they still wouldn’t be satisfied. I happily watch all the reruns of Golden Girls, Frasier and Cheers every night for almost 10 months a year. I seen them so many times I know all the dialogue already. The Christmas movies are a nice change of pace for a bit. Sorry for those of you that hate them but guess you just have to deal with it.

    Hallmark,

Are you planning on broadcasting only Christmas movies on both the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel from October 27, 2017 thru December 25, 2017? Right now that’s the only programming available on your channels. Are you going to have any regular programming between now and Christmas?

I love Christmas and I enjoy a good Christmas movie. I enjoy the Hallmark Channels…but this way too much. 24/7 Christmas movies starting in October is overload.

If your aim is get people to watch your channels, it may backfire. I haven’t watched the Hallmark Channel since it started the 24/7 Christmas movie broadcasting. If you at least waited until Thanksgiving that might make sense…but before Halloween.

It’s kind of like when I walking in to Hobby Lobby in the summer and they are starting to put out Christmas decorations. It’s just too much.

Is it going to be this way for the next two months? Please advise.

There Is no law written in cement that says you have to watch the Hallmark channels, this time of year if you’re so annoyed with the programming. There are over a hundred other channels you can go watch. Me, I look forward to this time of year for the Christmas marathon, and I’m sadden when it’s over.
I am also very pleased to know that they will continue in 2020 what they started in 2019 showing a Christmas movie on Friday nights. YEAH!!!

I also agree with those of you in saying that I would like to have seen Hallmark reach deeper into that large library of Christmas movies it has amassed in the past ten years and further back to show more of them during it’s tenth anniversary. Maybe next year we’ll see some of our favorites from the past, shown throughout the year, and during the Christmas in July marathon. Something to hope for look forward to, don’t you think?
