What some of you fail to realize is that other channels buy the exclusive rights to play certain movies. That’s why you won’t find movies like A Christmas Story playing anywhere else on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. If you want to see the 1951 version of A Christmas Carol is being played on competing classic station Movies! TV Network on Christmas Day. That same channel is playing a Shirley Temple marathon on Christmas Eve. Or you can do like I did and pay $10 for a DVD of the movie. As for the list not being very good, there are some movies being played before and after that should be included on this list. TCM will always have their Christmas Eve staples with The Bishops Wife, Shop Around the Corner, Christmas in Conn, Meet me in St. Louis, and It Happened on 5th Avenue.

The very best Carol version is the 1951 film with Alistair Sim. The 1938 version is OK but not nearly as good. Why is it that every year you leave out 1951at first anyway. I thought TCM owned all the old movies. It is surely about money somehow. You folks seem to be out of touch with the real TCM audience………Dana Franks

FXM (the Fox Movie Channel) has been running the 1951 A Christmas Carol AKA Scrooge for a few years now. They have generally run it several times in a row, much like A Christmas Story (but not 24 hours straight) on TBS.

This is disgraceful — Where are the Christmas Classics — Prime station cant make enough money airing them? Where are the Christmas movies of love, kindness, faith and belief. The original Miracle on 34th Street should have been on right after the Macy’s Parade — the only movie that starts with Thanksgiving and ends on Christmas day! The 1951 version of A Christmas Carol is the best, should be schedule to broadcast on Christmas Eve! All others in between, The Bells of St. Mary’s, It’s a Wonderful life, Holiday Inn, and White Christmas, to name a few should be shown more than once during the holiday season. And what about the animated classics; Charlie Brown, Rudolph, Frosty, the year without a santa claus to name a few – they need to be on often and various stations too. The millennials controlling the programing are clueless. Enough of the violence, blood and guts, evil santas etc. DAMN IT – IT’S CHRISTMAS.

Almost NO Christmas movies at all–not even the best movie ever made–the 1951 version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL with Alastair Sim. TCM has become a disgrace!!

1951 Christmas Carol is a must during the holidays. Numerous times would be nice. The same goes for all the classic Christmas movies. These movies are what turned my children, and now my grandchild, into TCM fans.

This listing pretty much sucks. I would love to see Holiday Inn, White Christmas, The Man Who Came To Dinner, Bachelor Mother and every version of A Christmas Carol…

What they are allowed to show is all about lawyers, rights issues, and money. That’s what determines whether or not we can have a Merry TCM Christmas.
