Well, they’re all done with Christmas in July, and I have to say that I thought it went very well. Lots of new products. There seemed to be a lot of stuff from Frozen last night, but most of it was selling out. I could have done without the Poo-Pourri, especially the Merry Spritzmas.
I also found that the Lenox product line not only includes tableware, but seasonal (no pun intended) salt and pepper shakers as well as some other Christmassy things. That’s better.
I’m worried about host Rick Domeier. He was in the final show and he looked awful — he’s gained weight, and there were deep dark circles around his eyes.
The coding worked! Cool! It’s like suddenly finding out you have superpowers.
More coming. The public schedule is up to August 22, which is an all-day Joy of Christmas, but I also have some shows for the week following. Putting in the end times saves me from having to type in how many hours long a show is, so (hoping against hope that my attempt at HTML coding works) here we go:
Friday, August 22, 2014
12:00-01:00 AM The Joy of Christmas (Lenox)

06:00-07:00 AM The Joy of Toys
07:00-09:00 AM The Joy of Christmas (Lenox)
09:00-10:00 AM Heartfelt Holidays with Valerie
10:00-11:00 AM The Joy of Christmas (Lenox)

12:00-02:00 PM Deck the Halls (Lenox)
02:00-03:00 PM The Joy of Toys

Tuesday, August 26, 2014
06:00-07:00 PM Countdown to Christmas (Holiday Decor)
I should add here that all the “Lenox” references for August 22 are to a maker of flatware. Lenox must be the TSV for that day. Any show with a “Lenox” in it is likely to be interrupted for half an hour or more at least once for a tableware pitch. It’s going to be knives and forks noon and night.
Okay, as long as you’re not mad at me for something. I really didn’t understand why the post wasn’t there. I can understand a glitch!
I don’t have a copy of the post, but the gist was that there was a lot of new stuff, some of which they were clearly trying out for a run closer to December. (I loved the room-filling Victorian-style gold and silver decorations.) It was also good to hear that Leslie from Mr. Christmas is carrying twins. She’s been appearing on QVC for years and years, and I’ve followed her from singlehood to engagement to marriage and, now, babies. I think they spent too much time per segment on the Today’s Special Value, both days; I think more but shorter segments might be the way for them to go. Variety is the spice of Christmas in July, and a half-hour on one thing, over and over again, is a killer.
We have yet another go on July 31, with a “finale.” (The TSV that day is Keurig. Gahhh.) As I recall, they do another special day on September 25 or thereabouts, and after that the Christmas-related shows come onto the regular schedule more and more often. I will keep an eye on the schedule for late September and will post here. Should be soon. (By the way, I also watched most of the Hallmarks. Couldn’t get enough of them!)
Regards to all here.
I absolutely agree… I felt like last year had a lot of repeats, stuff we’ve already seen. I loved all the new things year. 🙂
I’m not sure how I ran afoul of things here with my last post (a short, favorable review of this year’s Christmas in July), but it’s disappeared for some reason. I’ll bother you no further.
Oh no, I’m so sorry the post disappeared. We must have had a blip with the server. Please keep posting, we appreciate your posts 🙂
I miss it . But love your Bethlehem lights and decorations so cool. But look at holiday on your website.Love qvc.
Tonight’s the night! Hope everyone’s got their credit card primed and ready to go! Merry Christmas in July everybody!
I caught the 10 p.m. preview show, and I have to say I’m very disappointed. They had those spotty laser lights, and they had that colorful road race set with the flexible track, but they also had that loofah body-wash thing and half an hour of teeth whitening (the Today’s Special Value), neither of which is connected to Christmas — unless you give them as presents, and then *everything* is connected to Christmas. Valerie Parr Hill was selling wreaths, but her heart didn’t seem to be in it, and the host (Shawn Killinger) fumbled badly all through the pitch. I gave up a little before 11 p.m.
People look forward to this thing all year, but I’m afraid QVC pretty much blew it last night.
Hopefully the actual “Christmas in July” event will be better 🙂
You’re welcome. “But wait, there’s more!”

Awesome, thank you! I especially love the Gourmet Holiday shows.
I see the schedule I posted has made it to the top of the page, which is great. Mrs. Claus and Papa Bear, you’re very welcome. Like you, I look forward to this every year.
Thank you for the complete schedule! 🙂 I can now plan my weekend by the hour! Can’t wait!!!
Nobody’s said anything, so (even though I’m not sure how things work here) I’m putting the schedule up. The moderator can take it down if necessary.
(see above)
I have the complete schedule for this year’s Christmas in July, if you guys don’t have it already and would like to see it. Please tell me what I have to do, if you want it. I’ll check back here tonight.
BTW it actually starts on the 18th, with a two-hour preview show at 10 a.m. Eastern. Then things actually get rolling with The Joy of Christmas from 8 to 11, followed by three hours of Christmas Shoppe.
Only 195 shopping days left, people!
Thank you for sharing 🙂
I alway’s get excited every year when QVC airs Christmas in July. I look forward to see what new items they will display for Christmas 2014.
Simply love it! Look foward to it every year. Cook a special dinner and dessert. Just another way to have a little fun with the family and enjoy life.
Hope they don’t repeat the same items from last year.
