The networks holiday lineup “Great American Christmas” premiered the same year. I’m glad to see I’m not alone in my feelings. The past two seasons have not been as good as previous years on Hallmark. The movies left me feeling they were just OK but something was missing…that feel good old fashioned Christmas that melts your heart brings tears and memories of what Christmas is all about. Looking forward to the new movies on GAF this year.

hallmark has changed to suit what’s popular and no longer demonstrates the Love of Jesus, his birth or anything Godly in its productions anymore. it promotes finding a boyfriend or girlfriend, falling in love, finding love; and for sure not the love of God that last and is for all. Hallmark wants to win the popularity vote. The world is headed in a direction it will wish they never pushed; a world of their own making. it has already reared its ugly head. So sad

The lack of interest in the last two years of Hallmark movies is not about race or creed. It is
about content. The movies produced, say from 2012 through 2020, were well-written and had some depth to them. The latest movies did not invoke the Christmas spirit nor reflect (or mention) the reason for the season. Many people are looking forward to the movies on GAC. Let the excitement of the season begin! “And God bless us, everyone”!

The movies created the last couple years on Hallmark are horrible. Please bring back the older moves, for ex.. November Christmas, Christmas Card, Christmas Shepherd, Road to Christmas. These are the movies people look forward to, the old stuff !!!!!

I believe what you noticed was that Hallmark has become “woke”, and that’s why you are probably not enjoying the new programming. Even their commercials are ridiculous.

Define “woke”. I assume it’s because they are finally reflecting life in America, with actual Black, Latin and Asian couples. And interracial and homosexual couples that make you cringe in your Alabama home while you yearn for life in the 1950s where you only saw white people. Get over yourself, Karen.

Wow, the hatred and intolerance of those proclaiming to be fighting for tolerance is deafening and heartbreaking. I’d love to see more Latin and Asian movies/couples. What’s important is the chemistry of the leads, their relatability and how believable their story. Sadly, in today’s “woke” world they’re spending so much time jamming all the “proper” elements into movies that movies are disjointed and often unbelievable. Yes, I prefer to watch movies with Christian values but isn’t that my right too?

What people do in their life is their business. I don’t want to watch men kissing men or women kissing women on a hallmark channel or any channel for that matter. Just stop pushing it on TV . BTW I have friends that r gay that’s their business I just don’t want to see it on TV or books etc. And YES we are entitled to our own opinions.

Why the hate. People want one channel where christian values are important. There are so many choices and very few with these values. Why does it bother you.

Your idea of Christian values is warped and truly non-Christian. True Christianity welcomes all and accepts them for who they are, rather than chastising them because they have different views on life and religion. Quit forcing your warped beliefs on others!

The Bible is clear about homosexuality. No one has ever had issues about race. No one cares. But no, I don’t want to see two men getting together on a rom-com type movie. Your right. We are to come to God as we are, but we are not to stay living in sin. He loves us too much to keep us living a wrong life. If you cracked open the Bible, you would know this instead of just spouting what you think is a liberal “gotcha” when Christians know you just don’t understand.

While we are as Christians are to accept all, it does not mean we have to agree with it. By accept a person and not agreeing with their actions certainly does not mean we hate them. This a shrewd misconception of true Christianity.
We are all created in God’s image and we are to love like Jesus did but , speaking for myself , I do not care to watch the so called “woke” programming that has an agenda. It is still a free country and we are still allowed to choose what we , each one of us, likes to watch.
How about we agree to disagree and leave it at that. 🙏

I love Hallmark movies but I have always loved the Holiday Hallmark Shows starting in October as I’m pretty sure we all do. The past couple of years I just noticed a change the stories were good but not how they used to be this past year 2021 I just couldn’t get into them that much then I happen to be reading an article that someone (a head person) left Hallmark and moved to GAC and I’m guessing that is the reason why. I am looking forward to seeing the GAC Holiday movies and I hope they have the spark that Hallmark used to have. I think alot of it is has to do with the actors and actresses we fall in love with and it seems they have already or are moving over to GAC.

I totally agree with you. The past two years are not the same as the previous Hallmark movies. The storylines are very weak and not that interesting. Different writers perhaps??

I assume, like on all channels and networks, Hallmark was dealing with the shut downs and issues caused by the pandemic. I followed so many of the actors during 2020-2021, and it was obvious they were limited in their travel, social distancing, etc. I’m giving them some slack and look forward to seeing great movies on both Hallmark and GAC!

Yes some of the actors / actresses have left but there’s still awesome ones who stayed.…I know at first it was a bit sad seeing some of them leave but I will always love Hallmark as the original company who gave us wonderful Christmas movies to look forward to year after year..just because a new company has entered that market we don’t have to feel slighted or betrayed…let’s not let it become so competitive that we lose the joy the movies give us… have a Merry Christmas 🎄

I like holiday movies as much as the next person — but not in July and not before mid-November. We already get way too much Christmas way too early.

Just one reason we all have the prerogative to watch what channel we would like on any given day. Bring on the Christmas movies in September! LOL
