Hallmark Channel Countdown to Christmas

From the last weekend in October until January 1st, Hallmark Channel runs the seasonal block called Countdown to Christmas, featuring a mix of holiday movies, specials and holiday-themed original programming. Countdown to Christmas officially began in 2009, while the channel’s first holiday original movie was aired in 2000. Since 2012, the network has also held a “Christmas in July” event with airings of previous movies. In February 2019, it was announced that in honor of the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Countdown to Christmas event, the channel would air selections of movies on Friday nights throughout the year. This is continuing in 2020.

All the 2015 Christmas movies were thoroughly enjoyable. My favorite was “Crown for Christmas” which I watched nine times. Thank you, Hallmark, for a lovely season of movies.

I agree. Crown for Christmas is fine favorite as well and I watch it everytime it is shown because I never tire of it.
Thanks, Hallmark, for such lovely, refreshing movies.

I absolutely love and look so forward to the Christmas movies! I really wish they were played all year long! Where I live we have two Hallmark channels. I would think that one of them could be a Christmas station all year. Thank you so much

Mrs. Claus I wouldn’t want your job for all the money in the world. Having to listen to all the whiners must be pretty tiring! If you don’t like what’s showing then move on to another channel. I do agree, however, that some of the movies were repeated often while some of the favorites were never shown. I did enjoy the entire season of holiday movies though. As I said before I watch Golden Girls, Frasier, Cheers and I Love Lucy for ten months straight so it was nice to watch the Christmas lineup. I hope Hallmark does it all again the next holiday season. I wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!! Go Hallmark!!!!!

Norma, how do you survive without Golden Girls, Frasier, and Cheers? I hold my breath all during the season Hallmark replaces them with these dull, dry, poorly acted “Christmas” movies!!! Bring back my 3 favorites the minute the holiday is over.

Sue Ann I love Golden Girls, Frasier & Cheers too! The Christmas stuff is just a nice change of pace for me. It has always been my favorite time of the year since I was a kid. I’m a senior citizen now & I guess I kinda live vicariously through some of the movies. Can’t do much decorating for the holidays anymore. I wholeheartedly agree with you about the poor acting in some of the movies and I know the story lines are pretty much the same. Come January I’ll be back watching my “other 3 favorites!” Just like you. Merry Christmas Sue Ann to you and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!

I was very upset Christmas with Holly was not played this year. Everything that was played was repeated night after night and everyone I talked to was tired of them.

I have enjoyed watching some of your movies such as let it snow, puppy love, ice sculptured Christmas, portrait of love, a novel romance, a taste of romance. However I object to including in some of the other films the expositing of busty women’s breast and women’s short skirts, which seems to indicate modest isn’t important. Also, in some many of your film drinking (sometimes making fools of themselves) is acceptable, when there is so much evidence the great harm it has cause throughout our country for many decades. Is it ok to do so for the profit it brings to the industry? The films I have mentioned (above) have been entertaining. Please make more of them.

I love Hallmark movies, but (and there’s always a but) your schedule has been terrible. Due to my obligations, I watch TV 8pm to midnight one day and 6pm to 10 pm the next. It seems like whatever movie I watch late one night is on early evening the next. This has been most annoying. Also, does Hallmark plan on releasing Meet the Santas on dvd. I love that movie and hate that I can’t watch it during the year like I do Single Santa Seeking Mrs. Claus.

I watched the first part of The Bridge tonight. I did not know it was a 2 part movie. I am extremely disappointed. Is it true we have to wait a full year before seeing the second half? This is very unfair to us viewers. We should not have to wait to see the ending. Or perhaps it is a ploy to get us to buy Karen Kingsley’s book “The Bridge”. I will be much more careful in the future as to what I watch. I dislike 2 part movies if we are just going to be left hanging.

When will PART 2 of THE BRIDGE be shown. I just watched Part 1 and can’t tell you how disappointed I was to see it was a continuation. I thought it said Part 2 would be in December of 2016. SURELY THIS CAN’T BE CORRECT.
